Rumours – July 19th

This week’s rumour roundup sneaks a peek at Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019) as new details continue to leak out before the game’s launch in October. These rumours stem from the reputable Call of Duty leaker, TheGamingRevolution, who has been correct numerous times over the past few months.

Reputable Call of Duty Leaker Says Battle Royale Is Coming To Modern Warfare (2019)

In addition to confirming the exact list of killstreaks in Modern Warfare last week, TheGamingRevolution’s source at Infinity Ward has confirmed that a Battle Royale (BR) mode is coming to Modern Warfare. The mode is not expected to launch with the game as it is still currently in development, however, we do know that it is unlike a lot of typical BR games on the market right now. One of the biggest changes to Modern Warfare’s BR mode is the player count. Supposedly, Infinity Ward has tested the mode with one 152 players, though this number is expected to rise up to 200 players by the time the mode launches.

In order to make use of the larger player count, Infinity Ward are stitching together some of the series most popular levels, including: Terminal (Modern Warfare 2), Broadcast (Modern Warfare 1) and Gulag (Modern Warfare 2). From what has been revealed so far by TheGamingRevolution, this is only a fraction of the BR map. The YouTuber has confirmed in the past that there is supposed to be a cash system in place nick-named “Plunder”, where players can collect cash during the BR which can be deposited into ATMs dotted around the map. This money can then be spent on Supply Drops, providing the player actually wins the game. At the bare minimum, this mode is going to be very different from what fans may have been expecting from the series.

With Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019) scheduled to release on October 25th, we don’t have long to wait to find out exactly what the game will look like. The game’s multiplayer will be revealed on August 1st which should give us all a good insight into what Infinity Ward have in store. We’re also hoping that a multiplayer beta will be announced during the reveal, potentially going live at the end of the month. Either way, we’ll be keeping a close eye on TheGamingRevolution’s YouTube channel for more updates in the meantime. Source: TheGamingRevolution YouTube Channel
