Telltale’s latest game, Minecraft: Story Mode, is coming to the Wii U on January 21st. The first episode, ‘The Order of the Stone’ will be available on the Nintendo eShop in Europe and North America for £3.89.
The game features off-TV play and mirroring allowing players to use the Wii U GamePad to play through the game. In addition to this, the GamePad will support both the touch screen as well the joystick and buttons.
There are already four episodes of Minecraft: Story Mode out right now for other systems, however the Wii U edition will have to wait for the subsequent episodes to be released in the coming weeks. The season pass containing episodes two through five will cost £20.
Minecraft: Story Mode is the first of Telltale’s games to be released on a Nintendo system.
Kevin Bruner, CEO and Co-Founder of Telltale Games, said in the press release, “Working with Nintendo, we’re tremendously excited to be bringing our unique style of storytelling to Wii U for the first time, and we couldn’t be happier to be kicking things off with a series like ‘Minecraft: Story Mode‘ that allows players of all ages to craft their own adventure across the Minecraft universe”.
